M10 Tank Destroyer

Yet another WWII American classic. This time it's the M10 Tank Destroyer, this being the second model class with the 90 millimeter high velocity gun subbing out the 3-Inch naval gun as it's main armament. Obviously, this M10 still utilizes the M3 Grant's suspension (like the M4 Sherman) and has not been replaced by the newer HMSS suspension track system.

An interesting note: the average Tank Destroyer in WWII had less armor then vehicles classified as tanks. On the design table they were originally meant to be mobile destroyers of enemy armor, and not included in most forward advances against fortified positions.
